What kind of salary/compensation could I expect to earn?

Expect to earn $60,000 to $100,000 your first year. Your income is directly related to your initiative and time spent in the field. The more days worked equals greater pay. Each company has their own pay scale and compensation. Typically, there are a few ways you are paid, either as an employee or contract. Employees might receive a salary and a day rate i.e. $1500 a month salary and $200-300/field day. A contract operator does not usually receive a salary but the day rate is greater. There are also other bonuses such as truck allowances, mileage and subsistence, (meals) which are often worked out in advance.
